Is the English Bulldog The Right Breed For You?

English Bulldogs are gentle and fun-loving animals with a big personality.  This is a breed that was specifically created for bull baiting.  They have since then become a family oriented loyal companion.

These dogs can weigh up to 50 pounds, that’s quite the size for a dog that’s so low to the ground.  Their heads are massive and their legs are short but very strong and sturdy.  Bulldogs are all muscle and can be a bit intimidating at first but that changes once you get to know these friendly creatures.

They don’t need as much exercise as other dog breeds but they do need to be walked and played with.  Short walks are good for these dogs considering their short legs… they tire easily.  The Bulldog can do well in an apartment and is great for someone who doesn’t have an overly active lifestyle.

This breed is not a needy animal and doesn’t require a whole lot more than your love and attention.  They are pretty wrinkly so it’s important to bath them a few times a month.  If you are looking for a dog with low energy, this is the one for you.
